Concept Drawings: David S Pumpkins Ride!?

Universal has today filed two weird patents for two new tower type rides. One which could feature a number of interactive props that may self determine the outcome of the ride and the other features a number of rooms in one giant tower that guests would experience as they assent the proposed tower; which reminds us of that famous Saturday Night Live sketch of David S. Pumpkins!

The interactive tower ride option features four towers with ride vehicles that interact with projections and special effects that create an “immersive environment with which the riders may interact with each other.” There are also options within the attraction for some form of scoring system which might indicate the ride being themed to a game, say perhaps Nintendo?

The second patent includes a number of rooms stacked on top of one another where the ride’s vehicles are able to go in and out of the rooms whilst being able to also rotate and twist, with the options to also ascend and descend the tower throughout the experience. The attraction would also be designed to enable a number of different vehicles the ability to negotiate the towers and perhaps different routes thus giving guests a different experience on each ride.

Ascending a tower up and down whilst visiting different rooms sure does sound like David S Pumpkins and pumpkins is a NBC property after all! But building a whole attraction outta just this concept would be sheer bonkers!

The likely theming of the two potential rides might come to fruition at the new park that was just announced called Epic Universe. But like most patents, they may not even see the light of day and never be actually used!

Any questions?
